Born in 1975, Ann Murphy has been immersed in creation since her earliest childhood.
His education, his career
Throughout his journey as a self-taught artist, Murphy is interested in a variety of techniques such as drawing, painting, cabinetmaking and sculpture. At the age of 25, while establishing herself as an artist, she obtained a degree in interior design to complete her arsenal of skills.
She participated in the Salon des métiers d'art de Montréal as well as many other artists' fairs across Quebec. She has also taken part in several exhibitions in Canadian and American galleries. Although her career was initially focused on papier-mâché sculpture, she turned to painting in the mid-2010s. She found a cohesive way to combine her two favorite mediums including incorporating wallpaper , comics and clippings of all kinds - in his acrylic painted works.
After nearly 20 years of pursuing the careers of interior designer and painter, she made the decision in 2018 to devote herself full-time to her art.
Today, Murphy draws inspiration from her life and her eclectic surroundings. Nestled in a charming little neighborhood bordered by the St. Lawrence River, it is immersed in the fragmented mosaic that is Montreal. Colors, cultures, textures, nature and urbanism mix endlessly to create an endless amount of visual stimulation. This rich environment feeds the artist and allows him to navigate from one project to another in complete fluidity, without ever running out of inspiration.

With a particular fondness for animal subjects, the artist enthusiastically indulges his love of the whimsical patterns and composition for which he is renowned. His animals are filled with mesmerizing detail. The great attention she pays to their fur, their feathers or their scales is testimony to her unique signature. By imbuing every inch of her personality and her soul, she offers the observer a bold and uncompromising artistic work.
