His work, his art
An accomplished artist, Bev Rodin is recognized for her contemporary works with distinct atmospheres and light. With fluid and rhythmic lines, his compositions are very expressive. They celebrate the joy, the beauty of the landscape and the richness of these fleeting moments that nature offers him. She is fascinated by the play of light, like the rays of the sun that pierce the forest at different times of the day and the shimmering lights on the surface of the water. She proceeds in layers, observing negative spaces and using rich color combinations, sweeping lines, gestural abstractions and multiple glazes.
Through her three dominant themes, luminous forests, shores and gardens, she explores all seasons and different luminosities. She favors careful observation of the motif, then an interpretation of the subject in the workshop.
"Whether I'm on a trail or on a lake, canoeing down a series of rapids, exploring a beach or visiting a vineyard, I often stop to look for interesting shapes and patterns: moving water, caress of the sun that softens the edges of the leaves, a reflection or a magnificent color. Mother Nature's shows are sometimes so impressive that I take my breath away. »
Bev is also interested in the relationship of human beings with nature, their relationship with landscapes and the beauty of natural geometry. The observer is invited to see and interpret his work by giving it personal meaning. She cannot imagine her life without art, without the magic and truth it reveals.
